Your money triggers aren't the problem

Apr 29, 2025

If you’ve ever been mid-scroll on Instagram, seen a coach bragging about their $50K launch, and felt that tight, nauseous twist in your stomach...

Or had a potential client ghost your invoice, and suddenly spiralled into “maybe I’m not cut out for this”…

You know what it feels like to be triggered.

And if you’re like most women building their business, you’ve been taught that being triggered is a bad thing. That if you were “more healed,” “more high vibe,” or had “done the work properly,” you wouldn't be feeling anything at all. You’d just be a radiant, blissful money magnet, floating through your days untouched by rejection, comparison, or fear.

Yeah... no.

Here’s the truth... being triggered doesn’t mean you're broken.

It means you’re alive. It means your nervous system is communicating with you.

And if you can learn to actually listen... without immediately reacting, self-sabotaging, or shutting down, then your triggers can become the greatest shortcut to your next level of wealth.

When you get triggered,  maybe someone questions your rates, or your income dips, or you see a friend blow past you financially...  your nervous system isn’t trying to destroy your self-esteem.

It’s trying to keep you safe based on old programming.

Because somewhere along the line, your body learned that money was associated with threat.

Maybe you grew up hearing “rich people are greedy” or “we can’t afford that.”

Maybe you saw success lead to disconnection, jealousy, or abandonment.

Maybe you learned early on that standing out, asking for more, or even just having needs was dangerous.

Now, as an adult, your nervous system doesn't recognise the difference between real danger and emotional discomfort.

To your brain, raising your rates or being visible online feels about as safe as running through the jungle with a steak tied around your neck while a tiger chases after you.

So it does what it’s wired to do and triggers survival responses..

  • Fight (overworking, arguing with clients)
  • Flight (avoiding the sales page you need to post)
  • Freeze (procrastinating)
  • Fawn (dropping your rates to “be nice”).

It’s not irrational. It’s brilliant, given what it’s trying to protect you from.

But it will absolutely sabotage your business... unless you learn how to work with it.

When a trigger hits, most people do one of two things:

  • They react immediately... snapping, spiralling, people-pleasing, slashing their prices.

  • Or they shame themselves, thinking, “Ugh, why am I still getting triggered?! I should be past this!”

Neither option helps you grow.

The magic is in the middle.

When you notice a trigger, instead of reacting or shaming yourself, you can get curious.

Ask:

  • What is this moment trying to tell me about what feels unsafe?

  • What old belief or survival strategy is getting activated?

  • Is this a 2025 problem, or a 7-year-old-me problem?

The goal isn't to “never feel triggered again.”
The goal is to build the emotional strength to sit with dysregulation without handing over your business decisions (and your bank account) to fear.

If you can learn to breathe, ground yourself, and sit with the discomfort, instead of reacting from it, you reclaim all the power that used to leak out through self-sabotage.

The wealthiest, most powerful women I know aren't trigger-free.

They've just built the capacity to feel their emotions… without letting those emotions run the show.

Here's What To Remember:

  • Feeling triggered around money, business, or success doesn’t mean you’re behind. It means you’re human.

  • Your nervous system is communicating with you. It’s your job to listen, not immediately obey.

  • Sitting with discomfort is a skill. The more you practice it, the less your old survival patterns will control your future.

  • True abundance isn’t built by eliminating fear. It’s built by feeling fear... and choosing expansion anyway.

Your triggers aren't evidence that you're failing.

They’re invitations into the next level of wealth, leadership, and freedom.

💸 You know you’re meant for more, but every time you try to level up financially, something stops you.  It’s not that you’re bad with money, it’s that your nervous system is stuck in survival mode.

I get it! That's why I help women just like you rewire their nervous system’s response to wealth, so they can stop living in financial fear, break the feast-or-famine cycle, and finally feel safe earning, keeping, and growing their money.

Because financial confidence isn’t just about knowing what to do... it’s about being able to hold wealth without stress, guilt, or panic. And when your body stops seeing money as a threat? Everything changes.
