Why nervous system safety is the key to wealth

Money is the key to wealth

This past weekend, everything that could go wrong… did.

And yet, instead of falling apart, I handled it. Not because I’m some superwoman with titanium nerves (haha I wish) but because of the nervous system work I’ve spent years integrating into my life.

And I want to share what really happened, and what it showed me about how we respond to stress, money, and discomfort.... Especially as women who want to grow into our next level of wealth.

The Camper Van Catastrophe

Let me set the scene.

I’d decided to go to a festival. Outdoors, community vibes, nature... the dream, right?

Only I’m not a camper. I want to be. But dirty feet, no flushing toilets, and freezing nights? Not feeling it.

So I hired a camper van to make it bearable. Fridge, mattress, comfort... nervous system-friendly. Perfect.

Except... less than two minutes after dropping my dog at a friend’s house, white smoke started puffing from the van’s engine. The whole thing broke down.

And I spiralled. For a minute (okay, maybe a few minutes).

Past Me Would Have Cancelled Everything

Old me would have gone all in on the panic.

❌ Blamed the van owner

❌ Cancelled the weekend

❌ Felt sorry for myself

❌ Made the whole thing mean something about me

But I didn’t.

Instead, I called a friend. I asked for help. I let myself freak out… and then I regulated.

I reminded myself that even if things weren’t going according to plan, I had options.

I gathered what I needed, rallied with support, slept in the back of my car (yep, really), and still had a beautiful weekend. Because this time, the stress didn’t become me.

Regulation Isn’t About Being Calm

This is one of the biggest myths I see in my work as a money mindset coach and psychologist: that nervous system regulation means being totally zen, unfazed, unshaken.

It doesn’t.

True regulation means that when chaos hits, you don’t collapse into it. You create space between the trigger and the response. You don’t become the stress. You breathe through it. You move with it. You return to your centre faster.

This skill isn't just nice to have. It’s foundational if you’re building wealth.

Because stress doesn’t disappear when you make more money. In fact, for most women, it gets louder. Unless you’ve built the capacity to hold it differently.

Scarcity Was Everywhere

Once I got to the festival, something else caught my attention.

Scarcity mindset was literally in the air.

Jokes about being poor. Throwaway lines about “only camping because we can’t afford glamping.” Comments from friends like, “That’s expensive” or “You must be doing well.”

Even when it’s meant in jest, this language matters. It reveals what we really believe about money. And for most people? That belief is rooted in lack.

It reminded me how unconscious our money narratives are—and how easily we can absorb them if we’re not paying attention.

This is what subconscious scarcity looks like. It’s not just the numbers in your bank account. It’s how you speak. What you believe is possible. What you let be “normal.”

The Real Work Is Daily, Not Dramatic

What helped me hold all of this wasn’t a fancy mindset trick or one breakthrough moment. It was the years of intentional, daily nervous system work.

The pauses. The breaths. The noticing. The rewiring.

Think of it like a high-yield investment account. You don’t get instant interest. But it compounds. And one day, you’re faced with white smoke, a dead car battery, a broken spa—and instead of spiralling, you laugh. You lean in. You hold yourself.

And that’s what wealth embodiment really is. It’s not just about making more money—it’s about becoming the woman who can hold more. With grace, with softness, with trust.

What This Means For You

You don’t need to wait until you “have it all together” to start this work. You don’t need to master your nervous system before you raise your rates, take up space, or expand your business.

But you do need to begin.

Because when your body feels safe, the game changes. You’re not reacting from fear, anxiety, or old wounds. You’re leading from clarity, confidence, and calm. That’s when money starts to feel easier. That’s when success feels sustainable. That’s when your energy becomes magnetic.

And that’s what I teach in Regulate to Riches—my 28-day program that gives you the tools, practices, and insights to start this shift. With daily micro-moments of embodiment that build real change.

If you’re tired of living in a loop of “I know better but I can’t seem to change,” this is for you.

It’s bite-sized, practical, and intentionally designed for busy, brilliant women like you.

Because this isn’t about avoiding stress. It’s about rising above it... with a nervous system that’s on your side.

💸 You know you’re meant for more, but every time you try to level up financially, something stops you.  It’s not that you’re bad with money, it’s that your nervous system is stuck in survival mode.

I get it! That's why I help women just like you rewire their nervous system’s response to wealth, so they can stop living in financial fear, break the feast-or-famine cycle, and finally feel safe earning, keeping, and growing their money.

Because financial confidence isn’t just about knowing what to do... it’s about being able to hold wealth without stress, guilt, or panic. And when your body stops seeing money as a threat? Everything changes.
