Welcome to another episode of the rich woman rising. Podcast I'm your host, Eloise Tompkins. And I'm obsessed with helping women just like you make more money in your business not because it's all about the money. It's about what money can bring you. Money can bring you time. Money can bring you freedom. Money can bring you the ability to live life on your terms, but when we are so wrapped up in fearing money, it can be really hard to enjoy the money that we're making, and we find ourselves getting caught in these old financial patterns that hold us back from creating that true financial freedom that we're wanting in our life.
And that's what I'm here to help shift for you. So today, I want to talk about a topic that I think is one of the things that I get asked the most when it comes to money and women in business. And that is pricing.
So many women that I work with are struggling with pricing. They're struggling with charging what they're worth. They're struggling with feeling like they can raise their prices. They're struggling with feeling like they can charge more than what they're currently charging. And I want to talk about why that is and how we can start to shift that for you.
So first of all, I want to talk about why we undercharge. Why do we as women tend to undercharge for our services? And there's a few reasons for this. The first reason is that we don't feel confident in our skills and our expertise. We don't feel like we're good enough to charge what we're worth. We don't feel like we have enough experience or enough knowledge to charge what we're worth.
The second reason is that we don't feel worthy of making more money. We don't feel like we deserve to make more money. We don't feel like we're good enough to make more money. And this is a really common belief that I see in women, especially women who are just starting out in business.
The third reason is that we're afraid of losing clients. We're afraid that if we raise our prices, we're going to lose all of our clients. We're afraid that nobody's going to want to work with us if we charge more. And this is a really common fear that I see in women.
The fourth reason is that we're looking for validation through our pricing. We're looking for validation that we're good enough. We're looking for validation that we're worthy. We're looking for validation that we're valuable. And we think that if we charge less, we're going to get more clients and that's going to validate us.
And the fifth reason is that we think we need to be perfect before we can charge more. We think we need to have everything figured out. We think we need to have all the answers. We think we need to be the expert before we can charge more.
And these are all really common beliefs that I see in women when it comes to pricing. And I want to talk about why these beliefs are not true and how we can start to shift them.
So first of all, let's talk about the belief that we don't feel confident in our skills and our expertise. This is a really common belief that I see in women. And the truth is that you don't need to be perfect to charge what you're worth. You don't need to have all the answers. You don't need to be the expert. You just need to be one step ahead of your clients.
And the truth is that you probably know a lot more than you think you do. You probably have a lot more skills and expertise than you give yourself credit for. And the truth is that your clients are not looking for perfection. They're looking for someone who can help them get results. They're looking for someone who can help them solve their problems. And you can do that.
The second belief is that we don't feel worthy of making more money. And this is a really common belief that I see in women. And the truth is that you are worthy of making more money. You are worthy of charging what you're worth. You are worthy of living a life of financial freedom. And the truth is that you don't need to prove your worth through your pricing.
The third belief is that we're afraid of losing clients. And this is a really common fear that I see in women. And the truth is that when you raise your prices, you're actually going to attract better clients. You're going to attract clients who are more committed. You're going to attract clients who are more invested. And you're going to attract clients who are more likely to get results.
And I've seen this happen time and time again with my clients. When they raise their prices, they actually attract better clients. They attract clients who are more committed. They attract clients who are more invested. And they attract clients who are more likely to get results.
The fourth belief is that we're looking for validation through our pricing. And this is a really common belief that I see in women. And the truth is that your pricing is not a reflection of your worth. Your pricing is not a reflection of your value. Your pricing is a reflection of the value that you provide to your clients.
And the truth is that when you charge more, you're actually going to be able to provide more value to your clients. You're going to be able to invest more in your business. You're going to be able to invest more in your skills and your expertise. And you're going to be able to provide more value to your clients.
And the fifth belief is that we think we need to be perfect before we can charge more. And this is a really common belief that I see in women. And the truth is that you don't need to be perfect to charge what you're worth. You don't need to have all the answers. You don't need to be the expert. You just need to be one step ahead of your clients.
And the truth is that your clients are not looking for perfection. They're looking for someone who can help them get results. They're looking for someone who can help them solve their problems. And you can do that.
So now that we've talked about why we undercharge and why these beliefs are not true, I want to talk about how we can start to shift these beliefs and how we can start to charge what we're worth.
So the first thing that I want you to do is to start to recognize your inner critic. Start to recognize that voice in your head that's telling you that you're not good enough. Start to recognize that voice in your head that's telling you that you're not worthy. Start to recognize that voice in your head that's telling you that you can't charge more.
And when you start to recognize that voice, I want you to start to question it. I want you to start to ask yourself, is this really true? Is it really true that I'm not good enough? Is it really true that I'm not worthy? Is it really true that I can't charge more?
And when you start to question these beliefs, you're going to start to see that they're not true. You're going to start to see that they're just stories that you've been telling yourself. And you're going to start to see that you can actually charge what you're worth.
The second thing that I want you to do is to start to recognize your emotional response to pricing. Start to recognize how you feel when you think about raising your prices. Start to recognize how you feel when you think about charging more.
And when you start to recognize these emotions, I want you to start to question them. I want you to start to ask yourself, where are these emotions coming from? Are these emotions really serving me? Are these emotions really helping me to create the life and the business that I want?
And when you start to question these emotions, you're going to start to see that they're not serving you. You're going to start to see that they're actually holding you back. And you're going to start to see that you can actually charge what you're worth.
The third thing that I want you to do is to start to recognize your money story. Start to recognize the stories that you've been telling yourself about money. Start to recognize the beliefs that you have about money.
And when you start to recognize these stories and these beliefs, I want you to start to question them. I want you to start to ask yourself, where did these stories come from? Are these stories really serving me? Are these stories really helping me to create the life and the business that I want?
And when you start to question these stories, you're going to start to see that they're not serving you. You're going to start to see that they're actually holding you back. And you're going to start to see that you can actually charge what you're worth.
The fourth thing that I want you to do is to start to recognize your worth. Start to recognize the value that you provide to your clients. Start to recognize the results that you help your clients achieve.
And when you start to recognize your worth, I want you to start to own it. I want you to start to embrace it. I want you to start to celebrate it.
And when you start to own your worth, you're going to start to see that you can actually charge what you're worth. You're going to start to see that you can actually raise your prices. You're going to start to see that you can actually create the life and the business that you want.
And the fifth thing that I want you to do is to start to take action. Start to take small steps towards charging what you're worth. Start to take small steps towards raising your prices.
And when you start to take action, you're going to start to see that it's not as scary as you thought it was. You're going to start to see that it's actually possible. And you're going to start to see that you can actually create the life and the business that you want.
So I want to leave you with this final thought. You are worthy of charging what you're worth. You are worthy of making more money. You are worthy of living a life of financial freedom.
And when you start to believe that, when you start to own that, when you start to embrace that, you're going to start to see that you can actually create the life and the business that you want.
So I hope this episode has been helpful for you. I hope it's given you some insights into why we undercharge and how we can start to shift that. And I hope it's given you some tools and strategies that you can use to start charging what you're worth.
